How do I become a model?
Scene will only represent you, if we believe that you will work in the modelling industry. If you think you have potential, please email photo's (ie. head shot, body shot, in bathers & any other's you wish to include.) Please enclose your contact details, height & body measurements. Scene will then assess your potential and reply to your enquiry. Hopefully you will be asked for a interview to discuss your future with scene. If you are under 18 you should be accompanied with a parent or guardian.
How tall do I have to be?
Typically girls who model have to be 5'8 (173cm) - 5'11 (180cm) and a size 8 - 10.
Guys are generally 6'0 (183cm) – 6’3 (191cm)
How many photoshoots do I need to do to start modeling?
None at all. Just a couple of snaps for your interview, if your taken on, Scene will organise a test shoot with a photographer to start building your portfolio.
How much do shoots cost or is there a joining fee?
Reputable modelling agencies don’t charge you a joining fee.
Why do I need a comp card?
A composite card is the model's way of promotion. We constantly send it out to clients by post and via email. A model also gives it to clients on appointments.Without a composite card, Scene cannot promote you.
What is a mother agent?
A mother agent is the person who oversees a model's career, usually the agency who started or discovered the model is the mother agent. Your mother agent's role is to place you in a worldwide model network and guide you through you career. For example; Scene doesn’t have an office in New York but we affiliate with NY based agencies.
Where do the models live?
Each agency provides accommodation for the models they represent in their city. Usually this is shared accommodation, like an apartment. It may also be a hotel, depending on the city. Models from the same agency will share an apartment.
What sort of jobs can I do if I’m a Model?
Models do work for magazines like Vogue, Elle Magazine, Dolly Magazine and Australian Style...
Models get booked through advertising agencies for their clients eg David Jones, Bonds, Cadbury Chocolate etc.
Models do fashion shows like Australian Fashion Week and Myer...
Models can also be booked on Television Commercials.
